WEST HOLLYWOOD RETREAT
The Asset
The heart of a family home: the kitchen, dining room and living room, all open to each other and tied together by a sculptural steel staircase. Three spaces that had to work as one, from morning coffee to dinner with friends.
The Problem
The old kitchen was tired, closed in and laid out in a way that fought the rest of the floor. Storage was short, the appliances were dated and the lighting fell flat. Patching it was not an option, so the kitchen was taken down to the studs.
The Strategy
We redrew the kitchen from scratch: a new layout, custom flat panel cabinets in a soft sage green with carved finger pulls, a full marble backsplash and a long waterfall island with seating for four. A new electrical and lighting plan added the skylight glow, black ceiling cylinders and layered task light, and every appliance was sourced to sit flush and quiet. The same green wraps the dining and living rooms, where bold art, a sculpted rug and warm walnut pieces keep the calm palette from ever feeling cold.
The Outcome
A kitchen that works as hard as it looks, and three rooms that finally feel like one home. Calm, tailored and full of character, it is now the room everyone ends up in.
